Sharqi Dynasty

Sharqi Dynasty
It was established by Khwaja Jahan Sultan-us Sharq, who was appointed to Jaunpur in 1394 by Sultan Mah-mud Tughlaq (1394-1412). His adopted son, Malik Karanfal, de-clared himself an independent sultan at Jaunpur with the title Mubarak Shah Sharqi in 1398. The most illustrious ruler of the dynasty was Ibrahim Shah Sharqi (1401-1440). Husain Shah Sharqi, the last ruler of the line, was ousted from Jaunpur by Sikandar Lodi (1489-1417).
